A Simmer Blink is a future imaginary of an expedition to an abandoned place shot on the Shetland island of Fair Isle using only the power generated by the wind and the sun there.  

Over eleven minutes we see some of what remains in this fictional place. No explanation is given why nobody is here anymore and we never discover who has come back or when -not even whether it is a human agency. We think of it as a short piece of Slow Cinema but also Land Art Sci-fi. Please note that Fair Isle is not actually uninhabited but rather an off-grid community of around sixty people as of 2026.
