E-POLTERGEIST (2001)

In e-poltergeist normal browsing online is interrupted by a series of live searches made on Google that appear to address the end user; 'Please help me', 'Can you hear me?,'Please listen to me', 'Is anybody there'. A haunting soundtrack accompanies these interruptions while browser windows and pop-ups start to move around the desktop seemingly at random.

e-poltergeist (2001) now exists in an archived form as pictured made specially for the history exhibition, 'Choose Your Filter' held at Zentrum für Kunst und Medien in Karlsruhe, Germany in 2025. The work emulates the look and feel of the original made on Mac OS9 and commissioned by San Francisco Museum of Modern Art for their landmark exhibition 010101: Art in Technological Times.
